Oreo

Location: Florida
Oreo is another one of our sad stories, but we are determined to find him his Happily Ever After. He was confiscated when his owner was hospitalized, and then his owner passed away - and no relatives claimed Oreo. He was in danger of being euthanized, so we had to act fast. Oreo was suffering from an ear infection, and he had a lot of hair loss due to flea bite dermatitis. He has been taking some supplements and getting medicated baths to help his skin get healthy again. Oreo has soulful eyes and he is SUCH a great boy. He is fine with cats and other dogs, and great on a leash; he just wants someone to love. Oreo is 6 to 8 years old - young for a Terrier! To see more pictures of Oreo please visit his album.

Machete

Seniors for Seniors Candidate
Hey there! My name was Machete, but my foster peeps call me Big Mac. I am so lucky to be a Ratbone Rescues dog! My human parent passed away and I was living outside on a patio by myself (my parent's family would stop by once a day to feed and water me). I hadn't had any vet care in many years, and really needed a good check up. I have gotten used to eating beans and rice, so having to switch to dog food wasn't fun, but I like when special treats like canned food are added to my meals. I've been told I'm overweight, and I have been put on a diet. Being so heavy isn't good for me, and I don't understand why they say I have rolls. I am very social, and love people and doggies but i cannot STAND those things called cats. No cats for me! Anyway, thanks for reading all about me, I am looking for a family to love me forever. Oh - here's a link to my photo album. By the way - I am only 9 years young!

Odie

|
Location: Florida
Odie is about 5 years old and weighs 10.5 pounds. His parents moved into a new house, and he wasn't allowed to go with them because of the new carpet. He was given to his owner's mother, but she lived on the 15th floor of a condo and Odie was not comfortable going up and down the elevator. That, combined with long work hours, led Odie to Ratbone Rescues. He is very cautious in new situations and needs time to warm up when he experiences change (it took him a good 24 hours to be comfortable with his fostermom), and he gives gentle kisses once he is comfortable. Odie is crate trained and loves going for walks. He pulls a bit on his walks, but settles in to a nice routine after a few moments. Odie would do best in a calm home with adults. He is delighful once he's given his trust & heart to someone new. To see more pictures of Odie, please visit his album.

Tito

Location: Florida
Eight month old Tito's owners were moving into an apartment but didn't want to pay the pet deposit, so they took him to a high-kill shelter. He was intercepted by a volunteer and is now in foster care (with both dogs & cats). Tito gets along with dogs of both sexes, but he really loves the ladies. He is good with kids, but he may be better suited to older children, due to his teeny tiny size. Tito does not conform to the typical image of a purebred Rat Terrier, but he does have a typical a Rattie personality, so we believe he's either a Rattie/Chi mix, or a Rattie/Min Pin mix. Tito is very affectionate, and loves to be with people. He cries when he is left alone, but quiets down after a few moments. We are working on crate training, and he has already improved immensely in that regard. He likes to be under the covers at night, or to share a doggie bed with another canine. You can see more pictures of Tito in his photo album.

Marvin

My name is Marvin, and I'm 7 years old. I came from a terrible home, along with my fellow fosterRat, Becky Blossom. Things are pretty calm around my fostermom's house, though. We get to go outside and play, and we also get to have plenty to eat and drink. Our fostermom gives us lots of positive reinforcement when we do good things, too. I am learning to walk on a leash; it was very hard for me to do in the beginning. I didn't know what it was and what I was supposed to do, but I found out that it meant going outside and maybe also going somewhere in the car, so I'm fairly fine with it now. I like to sleep on the sofa and go explore the yard. I also like treats! I may need a fenced in yard since, like Becky Blossom, I get scared of things. Even with that, I'm a good boy who will love whoever adopts me very much. You can see my other pictures here.
