Coco East

Location: Florida
Coco East is 1-2 years old and weighs about 14 pounds. This boy came from the shelter as an owner surrender. He had been an outside dog, so we are working on his inside manners and especially his inside voice. Coco loves to play with the other dogs and cats. He is learning to play with humans, but would not be good with small children because of not being around humans very much. Coco is doing well with his crate and doesn't fuss about going in it when we leave the house. He is also working on his housebreaking and is doing well with it. Coco loves the water and will jump in the pool with his foster family. He especially loves to run in the shallow end shelf or ride on floats with members of the family. Coco is learning to walk on a leash; he loves to be held and cuddled. Coco is a work in progress, but will make a great dog for some lucky family.

Lemmy

Location: Georgia
My name is Lemmy; so named because I have a beautiful white coat with "lemon colored" markings. A volunteer from Ratbone Rescues sprang me from a kill shelter in TN where I was scheduled to be put to sleep. Now I am safe and sound with my foster family where I will stay until my forever family finds me. I am one year old and weigh 10 pounds, but need to gain about 3-4 pounds because I am very thin. Every night when we all go to bed, my foster mom tells me to "crate" and I go right in and sleep quietly all night long. There are six other dogs here at my foster home and I enjoy playing with them. Occasionally I get carried away and will play a little to rough with the small ones; my foster mom corrects me, and I am very good about obeying. I am very gentle with my people and love to cuddle with them. The shelter I was in said I was good with children, but I haven't been tested with them since coming to my foster family. I learned to use the doggie door at my foster home right away and I'm very good about doing my business outside, I've even gone out when it was raining (maybe I can teach some of the other dogs here about that). Are you the forever family I'm waiting for? If you're looking for a gentle, kind, playful soul who will be your loyal companion then please consider being my forever family and put in an application for me - you won't be disappointed! Here is a link to some

Rex

Adoption Pending!
CongRATs to the Heist family!
Location: Pennsylvania
Here's REX! Rex is 4 years old and a very handsome, muscular guy. He is a big hit with his 2 foster sisters! Rex was an owner surrender due to illness (in Missouri), and had quite a trip getting to his foster home in PA. Rex is a very well behaved boy in the house, and he loves squeaky toys. He goes to the door and scratches or rings a bell to go outside. Rex is fond of water, and will be a "guzzle gut" if not supervised. He gets along well with his Rattie sisters, but is slightly protective of his humans (but he listens and responds when re-directed). Rex does love to be outside and will definitely need a solid fenced-in yard. He loves to sit or lay with his humans, but does not jump up on them. Rex loves to have his head rubbed and is content if he can get tons of TLC. He is great with his 9 year old foster-human, and always very gentle. Rex is an all-around great dog and would be a wonderful addition to any household.

Nacho Bud

2007-09-28
|
Location: Kansas
Maybe he's "Nacho Bud" (not yo' bud) yet, but he would like to be if you will give him a chance! Little Nacho is 12 pounds and about 2 years old. He spent his first year or so being used for breeding and receiving questionable treatment. He is timid when he meets someone and he is definitely hand-shy. He will yelp if startled and if approached too quickly he will run away. He will come looking for attention, though, if a person is still and will come when called if not being pursued. Nacho likes to get up and sit on a lap and be petted; although he is a bit tense when he first gets there, he will relax after he is petted for a few minutes. Although he is not aggressive toward children (or people in general), he is likely too timid to do well in a home with active children. He is good with other dogs but doesn't like to play too rough. He can get into a bit of dominant posturing with other males so would be better with female or easy-going male dogs. Or he'd undoubtedly enjoy being an only dog as this would give him more undivided attention to help him get over his insecurity. He is not interested in cats. He uses a dog door reliably and is well behaved in his crate.

Woody

Dear Santa,
I know that it is early but I wanted my letter to be the first you read this year, because I am asking for something really BIG – a forever home. I was a stray earlier this year, and now that I am healthy and happy again I want to share my joy and love with a human(s) who needs me. Do you know of someone who needs a small (13 pounds), quiet and calm, adult (6 to 8 year old) male Rat Terrier?
My foster mama says my heart was broken when I came to live with her. Well, my heart is healed and now I am looking for a human whose heart could use a little Rat-Terrier-Therapy. I can offer my new family sweetness, companionship, and good manners. I can walk my new human(s) a couple times a day and share my home with canine siblings. I will be good in the car, at the vet, when meeting strangers... and I did good with cats and kids. I am not wild about baths or crates, but I will tolerate both without fussing because I am a good boy.
Santa, can you please find someone who needs me?
Your buddy, Woody
P.S. You can see my photos here and my video here.
