Rusty male

2015-05-25

Location: Idaho

Seniors for Seniors Candidate
This is Rusty. He will turn 8 years old in June (2016). Rusty is a neutered Rat Terrier. He is current on shots. Rusty is a twenty pound Dynamo. He has striking looks, yes, but a remarkable personality too! Rusty is very funny and lively. He has high energy, is an active little guy, and needs mental stimulation and lots of physical activity. Rusty is also a major love bug who not only loves to be held and cuddled, but he frequently asks to be picked up. Of course, like most Rat Terriers, he wants to sleep between the covers and share your bed pillow. Rusty is a clean boy who bathes himself and enjoys tub-baths; we do not know if he likes to swim. He loves to run and needs a chance to dig some holes. Rusty needs land - some property - to be happy. He is a compulsive healer and would make an excellent therapy dog. Rusty would love agility or any other kind of daily training and exercise program; he needs a job or hobby to fulfill his potential. Rusty is vocal and "talks". His vocalizations have given us great delight for nearly 8 years. Rusty is great with people, very friendly, and likes kids too - if they respect him and know how to approach a dog. He did great with the three elderly female dogs that were in his pack, but not so much with adult male dogs. He has been spoiled and he is a dog with a strong, dominant personality. He has been too aggressive with his special needs brother (a very spooky boy) and his elderly brother recently, which has forced his family to find him a new home. Rusty is an excellent housemate; he has never been destructive, and actually still has most of his original toys. He loves to play with toys, do puzzles, find treats, run, be with his people, learn new things and go for walks. Rusty is an extraordinary dog with huge potential. The ideal personal companion! Rusty is NOT good with cats at all, and he needs to be an only dog. If you have space, time and energy to give this boy, he will give you a lifetime of joy and laughter. Rusty is pure delight! Note: This is a Guardian Assistance Placement (GAP) Program dog, meaning he/she has been fortunate enough to remain in his/her current home while looking for a new home. Veterinary records have been verified, but we must rely on input from the owner for information on behavior and temperament.

Rattatouille male

2016-09-18

Location: Indiana

My name's Rattatouille, but my friends all call me "Tewie". I'm about a year old. I came to my foster home from New Jersey, where I got dumped at a big dog rescue. I like to play and I like to dig holes. I am a beautiful blue merle & white purebred Rat Terrier boy, with one blue eye. The ladies who sent me to my Indiana foster home said I was a "designer dog reject", since I came with only one blue eye (instead of two). I am very lovable and handsome, so I don't think I'm a reject!! I like to go outside to play, and I sleep quietly in my crate at the end of the day. I will need a fenced yard because I like to explore and I might go too far and get lost without a safely fenced yard. I like men, women and children equally; maybe I should be looking for a family with some kiddos to play with! You can see lots of pretty pictures of me here in my album.

Dante male

2016-06-28

Location: Florida

Dante is a BIG 12 month old puppy with lots of puppy energy! He is CUTE and fun! Dante was listed as "free to good home" on Craigslist, and his original owner said his name was Dorky, and his former owner didn't have time to spend with him. That wasn't a very nice name, so we changed it the minute we got him. Dante is very outgoing and loves to meet new people and dogs. He is crate-trained and is learning about walking on a leash. We think he is possibly Decker Rat Terrier mixed with Boston Terrier, based on the shape of his face. Whatever his exact lineage, he is adorable. He is full of energy and loves to play! He gets along with all dogs and is kinda curious about cats at this point. More pictures of Dante can be found when you visit his album.

Mr Kip male

2016-08-24

Location: Florida

Mr. Kip was dropped off in a box in front of a Veterinarian's office in Memphis, TN (he now lives in Jacksonville, FL). His current owner took him home to foster, but after a month decided to adopt him. Kip is a very energetic dog; he loves to go on walks and play tug; his owner says he will chase a ball as long as anyone will keep throwing it. Sadly, over the past few months Mr Kip has exhibited difficulty getting along with the other dogs living in the home; there have been some aggressive incidents, and because Kip is so much bigger than his house-mates they have not fared well in the exchanges. Mr Kip is a great dog, but we believe that he would be best as an only dog. That way he can focus all of his charm and energy on making his family happy and safe. Mr Kip is 6 years old, and weighs 45 pounds. More pictures of Kip can be seen here in his album.
Note: This is a Guardian Assistance Placement (GAP) Program dog, meaning he/she has been fortunate enough to remain in his/her current home while looking for a new home. Veterinary records have been verified, but we rely on input from the owner for information on behavior and temperament.

Dashley Longworth male

2016-09-18

Location: Indiana

My name is Dashley - Dashley Longworth. I'm about 6 years old, housebroken, weigh about 20 pounds, and I am very, very sweet. I love to be talked to, and I like taking walks in my fostermom's big yard. I might be a Rat Terrier and Corgi mix, or maybe just a "b type" Rattie. I have a stubby tail that I love to wag. I came from Central Kentucky to Southern Indiana. I like my foster home a lot! I will make someone a very nice companion - or that's what my fostermom says. Here is a link to my photo album.
