Adoption Pending!
CongRATs to the Liddic family!
Location: New York
Meet the sweetest boy ever: Hibiscus. He is 12 weeks old and is being fostered in Albany, NY. "Biskie" is the most loving puppy of his litter, and will wrap his front legs around your neck and give you so many kisses that you won't need a bath later! He is paper trained and is just very sweet. Biskie loves kids and dogs and people (and even cats!). He is a big floppy puppy, looking for a home were someone is home most of the day. Hibiscus would benefit from attending puppy training classes after he's had all of his puppy booster shots. His fostermom says Biskie is just the best boy ever! So if you think you can give him tons of love and attention and a forever home, please apply for Hibiscus - you will be a very lucky family! He will be ready to go home at the end of August. Here's a link to a some of my baby pix.

Hop-a-long

2010-08-09
|
Location: Florida
Hop-a-long is a young, puppy-ish Rattie who is trying to recover from a severely broken leg. The cause of his injury is unknown, and he has already had surgery that was intended to save the leg. On Labor Day it will be 3 months since that surgery. As of now there has been almost no bone growth, and Hoppy is in danger of losing his left hind leg. Hop-a-long is about 1 to 2 years old, weighs about 9 pounds, and loves all the people and animals he meets. He wants to play constantly, but is happy sitting in a lap trying to kiss... or hanging out with the other dogs. Hoppy has amazing spirit and attitude, considering all he's been through. He does like to chew on things (sort of like teething), which makes us think he may be younger then described. Hoppy has been mostly confined to his crate (with leashed walks to potty) to give his leg a chance to heal. He is some-what house trained, and would be a joy to any household with children or other animals. By the **end of August** we should know whether Hop-a-long's leg can be saved (he currently lifts it when he walks, and does quite well without it). To see more pictures of Hop-a-long please

Lady

2009-12-16
|
Location: Oregon
Lady is estimated to be eight years old, and weighs 24 pounds. She is a bright girl who is actively looking to bond with her person. Lady will seek out physical affection, such as belly rubs, being petted and staying close to people. She has had a difficult time with the loss of her original owner, multiple foster placements, one failed adoption, and an airplane transport across the country. Lady has picked up some negative behaviors on her travels, including pulling while on leash and excessive barking at other dogs, squirrels, cats and motorcycles when out walking with her foster family. She has made significant gains in learning her place in her current foster home, but introductions to other pets can be difficult. Lady has previously lived with cats and other dogs; in her foster home she is living with other dogs. Lady has undergone a series of medical tests to address incontinence, however the results were inconclusive; she is taking daily medication that helps to a degree, but she currently wears a dog diaper to keep accidents to a minimum. Lady would be thrilled to be the only dog in a home - though she would also benefit from being in a multi-dog household - as long as there is firm guidance. Due to her previous experiences and insecurities, we feel she would do best with an experienced dog owner and/or a family that is committed to consistency in the household and on-going "basic training". Lady is smart and caring, and has amazing potential.

Grady

Location: North Carolina
Hi - I am Grady the Fraidy. I am about 4-5 years old, and I was not socialized much at all during my former life. I am tiny guy - about 10-11 pounds, and I love to sit on your lap... once you catch me. Noises scare me a lot, and I have been working really hard on not peeing when my foster mom picks me up. I sound like a real charmer don't I? I hear you laughing; really, I am a great boy. I'm small and require very little execise. My favorite past-times are sitting on laps and watching TV. I do play a tiny bit, but sometimes my toys scare me and I'm not real sure what toys are. I do try to play with my foster brothers and sisters, but I am not real sure how to do that either. They make fun of me when I play, but I keep trying to learn. Sometimes when I'm on the couch I can even be a tiny bit bossy to the other dogs, but a quick little "no" from my fostermom and I stop right away. OH - and there is this big white tiger here (they call her a cat), and she chases me around. I'm scared of her, and run and cry, so I guess that means I'm ok with cats. I really have come a long way since being in my foster home. I come downstairs and join the family on the couch a lot of the time now, but I still prefer to take my meals in my private room; but hey who doesn't like room service? Also, I like to be "delivered" to the outdoors, so I will do my business. I'm bit scared outside, but eventually will roam around. I think I have the staff here very well trained. I am looking for a special family who can be patient with me and help me learn to be a trusting boy, and to help build my confidence. I do have lots of love to give, and I am working so hard on being a "normal dog". But hey, who's to say what is normal? If you can give me a nice quiet home with lots of love and patience I just may be the dog for you. Check out a couple of my photos. I am a cute guy - quirks and all!

Location: Kansas
Pip came inton rescue with his big brother, Jake (who has been adopted). Pip weighs about 15 pounds and is 1-2 years old, with the cutest undershot jaw and baby face. Pip is playful and gets along with the other dogs although he can be a bit more confrontive than his brother. He likes to jump on a lap and get petted. We have not tested Pip on cats yet, but can if needed. For more photos of Pip please see his album.
