Cricket

|
Location: Florida
Our sweet 4 month old Cricket comes to us from Georgia, where she and her brother Cody were in the shelter in Valdosta. Both were in danger of being euthanized; Cody because of an injured and misshapen paw, and Cricket because of mange. Cricket is a sweet little puppy who LOVES to give gentle kisses. She is submissive to the other puppies in her foster home, but loves loves loves to run and play and try to be part of the pack. Cricket is currently under treatment for demodectic mange, which is not contagious to humans or other dogs. This cutie will be available SOON, once her skin condition has been cleared up. More pictures of Cricket can be found here in her album.

Sheba

Location: Ohio
Seniors for Seniors Candidate
Hi! I'm Sheba, a 7 year old Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix. Somehow I found myself stranded in a rural Ohio shelter when my family was no longer able to care for me. That's when I got lucky and Ratbone found me. I'm currently living with my fostermom and her dogs. I'm fine with other dogs, although I was a little frightened of the big dog a first, but I got use to him. My fostermom says I'm the sweetest thing and love everyone. I do think everyone should like me, and I want them to pet me; I'm very friendly. I probably should be in a home with adults or older children - no small, young children, as I'm a little set in my ways. I have this unique personality that when I want something I growl to let you know. I'm not mean at all, just trying to get your attention. Did I mention that I'm housebroken, too? I'm sure if you looked at my pictures you'll notice that I'm a little chunky. My fostermom says I need to lose weight and we have to work on that.... Well, I'm an older girl, and I do enjoy my food! I have a bad habit that my fostermom is trying to stop, but I'm not cooperating... I like to sneak in the bathroom and unroll the toilet paper, and I do eat some of it, but I'm hungry! I like to go for walks, too! So if you're looking for an older, friendly, mostly quiet (OK - I do bark a bit, especially at the dogs next door) girl that just wants to be loved, petted, go for a nice walk and have a soft cushion to lay on (preferably on a couch or chair).... you've found her! Here are some more pictures of me.

Zuzu

Adopted!
CongRATs to the Lindsay family!
Location: Oklahoma
Seniors for Seniors Candidate
Zuzu was rescued from a north Texas shelter. She had heartworms, but completed treatment with no lasting ill effects. Zuzu is probably about 7 to 8 years old, and weighs around 17 pounds; she's tall and "leggy", but has filled out nicely since coming into rescue. Zuzu is good with the other dogs at her foster home, and mostly pays no attention to the cats. She has not been around kids at her foster home, but with her temperament she should do fine with kids over the age of 7 or 8. Zuzu is now crate-training and housebroken! Now that she has been in her foster home for a significant amount of time, we can say with confidence that Zuzu is a very sweet, biddable, and affectionate girl to her humans. She will play with the younger dogs when they ask her to, and gets very happy and excited when all the other dogs do. Zuzu is not a noisy girl, but when she barks you sure can hear her! She would do well with a small family, or with a senior couple (or single person). Please use this link to visit Zuzu's photo album.

Moxie is a gorgeous black and white girl! She has a high prey drive, and likes to hunt critters on her walks. Moxie gets along with other dogs, but barks at cats. She can be shy with new people, but warms up quickly. Moxie is about 2 years old. She is great on a leash and loves to cuddle at night. Mable

Location: Oklahoma
Seniors for Seniors Candidate
Mable came to Ratbone Rescues after her owner passed away. She has been in her foster home for a few years now, and is looking for her forever home. Mable’s weight stays around 15 pounds. She is very well mannered and leash trained; when walking, if the leash touches her backside she will stop and sit, and move only when told to do so. Mable likes to sleep curled up in her own bed (she doesn't like crates), but will jump in bed with you during thunderstorms. She loves to have her belly rubbed, go for long walks in the park, and lay around. Mable is not a barker, unless someone is at the door or in her yard. If a dog could be described as a perfect little lady – that description would fit Mable. Children love her, as do the adults who meet her. She does not play with toys or other dogs, and seems to be a loner - although the younger foster dog in the home follows her around (which Mable doesn't seem to mind). Mable will be 13 years old in 2015, and she wears her age very well. As you can see, she has a beautiful face and eyes, and with her gentle personality she is a favorite with visitors. To see all of Mable's pictures please click here. Mable does have a thyroid issue, which she takes medicine for twice daily. The cost of her medicine is $15.00 per month. Mable is a sweet, lovable dog, looking for that special someone to spend her time with. Would that be you?
