CongRATs to the Warfield family!
Location: Oregon
A big bird swooped in and left a package here at the beach again. She is a sweet, sweet little 13 pound girl. Spice is loving having a house to live in, and great food to eat, and friends to play with. She is about 7 1/2 months now and still growing. Sometimes her ears stand up and sometimes they get floppy at the ends. Spice was born with a naturally short tail - about 4 inches or so. She is black, tan and white with lots of freckles. Her coat is silky soft. Rescued from life in a backyard, where she and ler sister (Sugar Plum) were tied - without shelter, food or water, Spice hasn't had very many good life experiences until now. But she is quickly making up for all that! Smart as a whip, she is mastering the basic stuff with record speed. Her favorite place is in her fostermom's lap. She has learned to play with toys and can skin and chew up a tennis ball. Gentle with the cats and respectful of her elders, Spice loves a romp with the big guys. She knows her name and comes when called (too many wiggles to sit for her treats yet). Spice wants a home where she can snuggle under the covers at night and stay close to her person at all times. This little miss has yet to meet a stranger. She will be good with children, other animals, or seniors citizens. Just remember that this is a sensitive puppy who needs a gentle hand. Yep, I'd say she is ready to give her heart to some one. Is it you? To see more photos of Spice (and her sister Sugar Plum) please click here.

Rocko

Seniors for Seniors Candidate
Rocko is a precious older guy. He is probably around 11 or 12 years old, and he does show some "wear and tear". His hind legs tremble a little, especially if he's anxious, and he is afraid that he is going to get dumped again. Rocko ran out of time at the humane society where he had been dumped for at least the second time in his life. The people who turned him in said that he was dumped on them, so Rocko has good reason to worry. Now that Rocko has settled in at his fostermom’s home, he is starting to relax and has become a wonderful companion. Rocko follows his fostermom everywhere, and sleeps cuddled up next to her in bed. It won’t work to try and train this dog to not sleep on the bed; he will cry all night, so Rocko should go to someone who wants him to stay close to them. His fostermom can even garden outside and Rocko will never leave her side. He is also an accomplished lap dog, but if you absolutely cannot have him on your lap, he will sit quietly beside you until you can. Rocko has gotten used to his fostermom leaving him for the day for her new job, so he can function alone for awhile. He is perfectly house broken and uses the doggy door to go outside. He is not destructive in any way, and he gets along well with other dogs and even cats. Rocko was well trained at one time, and he knows basic obedience commands. He has very nice manners. Rocko likes kids if they are respectful of him, but he would be most content in a quieter home without a lot of confusion and chaos. Rocko was suffering from flea allergies when we got him, so he needs to be kept on flea prevention. He is in very good shape now. Rocko is a wonderfully sweet and gentle dog who just wants to be with you. He is very easy to live with and a joy to have around!
