Dinky Do

|
Location: Florida
Dinky Do was an owner surrender. She is 10 years old and weighs about 20 pounds. Dinky is loosing weight now that she is on good food and exercises with the other dogs outside. Dinky is also house broken, and sleeps on her bed on the floor at night. She loves lots of attention, and she especially loves her stuffed toys. Dinky is good with cats but no small children for this mature girl. She is just a joy, and her foster family loves having her in their home. Dinky would be great for someone that wants a low-keyed girl to spend quiet time with.

Horatio

Location: Texas
Horatio is a wonderful dog who is good with children, other dogs, and some cats (depending on the personality of the cat). He is a little shy around strangers, but will warm up to them and allow them to pet him after a brief introductory period. Horatio loves to play with people and with his toys. He loves to toss one of his toy up in the air and then charge around the house as fast as he can before tossing it again. When he wants to include his people, he will bring the toy to you and will release it after a few "drop it" commands. When he plays with people, Horatio likes for you to chase him (or pretend like you will), and he will jump up & down and back & forth like a pogo stick while he barks at you. If he gets too excited Horatio will sometimes play bite (this means the end of playtime). Horatio is not overly affectionate, but will paw at you when he wants attention. Be careful - his aim is not precise, and may result in a punch to the face. He has learned a few tricks and will try to perform all of them at once when he thinks it will get him one of his favorite treats. Horatio will "sit", "shake", "down" and "speak". He is well mannered and listens to commands. Horatio is not an escape artist, but does enjoy looking under the fence (he may dig a little in order to get a better view). He has learned when it is appropriate to bark... or not. Horatio sleeps in the bed with his fostermom sometimes, or he may choose the couch instead. He rides well in the car and does not bark at passers-by. Horatio loves to go for walks and is very good on the leash. He has not had any accidents in the house, even though he stays in all day while his foster family is at work. A home with older kids would be better for him, due to his slightly wild play habits. Horatio is really a wonderful dog who would work best in a home where he's the only dog. We only have a few photos of Horatio because he will hunker down and drop his ears the minute he sees the camera, and belly-crawl out of the room at the first opportunity!

Chance

Location: Georgia
Chance is 2 year old male Rat Terrier who came from a very bad background. Despite the mistreatment he has suffered, he is a loving, gentle boy. Chance is housebroken, and very quiet and well mannered. He gets along great with cats, dogs and children. At this point Chance is a little thin, but when he reaches correct weight he should weigh between 20 and 25 pounds. He has a heart of gold and lives to please his people; Chance is attentive without being clingy. He is also not a barker. Would you be the right person for Chance? He needs people that will love him forever and truly appreciate him for the special dog that he is.

Badger

|
Location: Kansas
One look at Badger's face will tell you this guy is just overflowing with personality. There may be a little Boston Terrier in his lineage, as he has a very short "corkscrew" tail, undershot jaw, and black and white coloring. His undershot jaw gives him a bit of a pugnacious look and his character sometimes matches. He had been surrendered because no one had time for him anymore and he was tied up in the back yard all alone. Badger gets along fine with 12 out of 13 foster Rat Terrier "siblings" but took a dislike to one, whom he is determined to whoop every time he gets in the same room. Because of this chance of aggression if the personalities clash, Badger needs to be an only dog or with a non-dominant female. He is 6-7 years old and around 15 very solid pounds. He is a charming fellow -- likes people and is fine with children but untrustworthy around small animals, including cats. Badger will sleep quietly in a crate but will complain if left in the crate while everyone else is active. He is housebroken, using a dog door reliably. Despite his rather "tough guy" appearance, Badger's personality will win you over quickly when you met him.

Harper

Adoption Pending!
CongRATs to the Free family!
Location: New York
Meet Harper; she is about 5-6 years old she is very sweet.
Harper is calm and enjoys just laying around and being petted.
She is 100% housetrained, and loves to habg out on the couch with her foster family. Harper is a little mouthy with other dogs at first, but warms up she gets to know them. She does not like to be held, but will cuddle if you sit down beside her. Harper is very mellow and would be great for someone who is not active and just wants a sweet companion around the house and yard. She is not destructive to your things. Harper likes kids and has no problem with the cat in her foster home. She would do best in a quiet home that is just looking for a pet to love who will love them back. Are you the family for Harper?
